The Jackpot Community Trust operates a structured and responsible funding model across our society lotteries, ensuring that funds are distributed strategically and with measurable impact.
Funding generated through The Scotto and What a Lotto is awarded exclusively through a closed application process. Each year, our Board of Trustees selects a small number of charity partners at their discretion. These partnerships may involve a single grant or multiple distributions over a 12-month period. Throughout the partnership, we work closely with each organisation to understand, support and highlight the impact of their work. All charity partnerships are reviewed annually.
The causes we support are broad and reflect our key areas of impact, including health and wellbeing, children and young people, homelessness and animal welfare.
Funding generated through the Scottish Children’s Lottery operates under a blended model. We operate an open application process through set funding windows during the year, with charities invited to apply via our online grant management system. In addition, a closed application process mirrors our other lotteries.
All Scottish Children’s Lottery funding is awarded exclusively to charities supporting children and young people in Scotland.

Charity partners are selected at the discretion of our Board of Trustees, following careful consideration of organisational strength, impact potential and alignment with our priority areas. Rather than operating through an open call, we proactively identify organisations whose work reflects our mission and where our funding can make a significant difference.
Partnerships lengths are determined by our Board of Trustees and will involve either single grant or multiple funding distributions. Beyond financial support, we work closely with our partners to understand their programmes, monitor progress and share the stories and outcomes that demonstrate real community impact.
This collaborative model enables deeper engagement, stronger accountability and clearer measurement of results. It also ensures that funds generated through our society lotteries are distributed responsibly and in line with our strategic priorities.

The Scottish Children’s Lottery provides charities with the opportunity to apply for funding during set application windows throughout the year. This open programme supports projects across Scotland that improve outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and families at high risk of being negatively impacted by poverty.

Applications for funding from the Scottish Children’s Lottery are submitted through our dedicated online grant platform.
STEP ONE:
Eligible charities complete and submit the online application form during an open funding window. Applications are only accessible while the window is live.
STEP TWO:
All eligible applications are reviewed, and a shortlist is prepared. Further information may be requested, including interviews or visits.
STEP THREE:
The shortlist is presented to the Board of Trustees, who assess applications and make final funding decisions.
STEP FOUR:
Successful applicants receive and accept funding terms before funds are distributed. We then work collaboratively on impact reporting and an appropriate marketing and media plan.
